Blinged Slip Collar
This collar has 2 stainless steel D-rings and 4 stainless steel rivets. I prefer D-rings over O-rings on Slip Collars because the D-rings lay more flush against the collar. They don’t stick up and out as much as an O-ring.
This collar is not adjustable. It is meant to slip over your dog’s head and sit comfortably around their neck. Your accurate measurement is critical because these collars cannot be shortened or lengthened once made. Measuring tips are below.
When you want a truly waterproof dog collar, you want Stainless Steel. It’s such a waste to make a waterproof Biothane Collar and then use plated metal hardware that will chip, tarnish and rust. Unlike brass, Stainless Steel does not turn green or discolor the material it comes in contact with.

Cut a 1″ wide strip of copy or notebook paper, lengthwise so it’s 11″, not 8 1/2″. Then cut another. Tape your two 11″ long strips together to make a 1″ x 22-ish” long strip. Place around your dog’s neck and tape shut. Let them walk around a minute and see if you like the fit. If not, adjust and retape. Make sure it can slip over your dog’s head. Make sure it doesn’t too slip over your dog’s head too easily.
When you’re pleased with the fit, not too tight, not too loose, cut the paper collar off, measure length, and use that measurement for the size you order.
